No Collective

It's as impossible to "read" the text of this performance piece as it is to "see" a painting in its description. A set of instructions or cues. Such improvisations remind me of a performance I attended in the mid 70s in San Francisco which consisted of the "leader" of a "jazz" group throwing spaghetti against a blank wall. The spaghetti (this predated the evolution of noodles & spaghetti into pasta) that stuck to the wall became the "score" which the musicians then proceeded to "play." It didn't sound like much, but it was an interesting concept. I think you have to have been there.… (más)
