Another fun read if you've been to Mackinac countless times or if you're planning your first trip. I would say that it would benefit from a good editor since there are quite a few simple spelling/grammar errors. Also, the historian in me would like footnotes with citations from sources - I've read the majority of the book sources listed in the back and most of those don't refer to the deaths and other stories told here. All the same, these make for good campfire stories - I've yet to experience anything ghostly on the Island, but that doesn't make me love it any less!

Mackinac Island was a destination as part of a summer vacation. It is a really beautiful place, and it has many local legends. Todd Clements has collected them into a slim book that can be used as a haunted travel guide to Mackinac Island. Unfortunately, there is not too much story telling in these pages. Like Beth Trippani’s book about Haunted Pittsburgh, most of the material is related in a dry factual manner. Nonetheless, if you are headed to this island gateway for Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, reading this book before you go will add to your experience and may serve to guide you on your vacation.
