This is Victorian children's fiction at it's most nauseatingly melancholy. The Little Prudy is a sickeningly sweet child whom everyone adores and is rather disgustingly twee by modern standards. Well by anyone's standards. Anyway Grace and her friend have this falling out that isn't really a falling out and Grace learns how to be a better person.

Charming story from the late 1800's of a little girl who believes she has caused her sister harm (albeit accidentally). Prayer is central, life is simple, and family is the solid core. (Injured sister recovers completely)

Unfortunately, I found this book to be rather dull. There was no rising action or climax to the book. It was simplistic and showed what the lifestyle was like in the 1800's.

Not one I would recommend for leisure!
