This book gets from me a 3.75-stars.
When I picked the book, I thought it is the story of Abraham Ben-Aroya, a Jewish socialist, member of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Workers' Party, later leader of the Socialist Workers' Federation in the Ottoman Empire. Benaroya played a vital role in the foundation of the Communist Party of Greece in 1918. The truth has to do very little, and it is the back-story of this story.
The plot story of this book has to do with the story of a family in Thessaloniki (Salonika) before, during and after WWII.
Aliza, our main character is working on her theses for her master, but at the same time she is looking to find out the story of her grandmother's life through three photographs she has to inherit after her grandmom, Luna dies.
As the third generation of Holocaust survivors and a grandchild of a partisan, this book made me think about many things as well as understand many other things.
This book from what I know is published in Greek; it was an ok read for me, especially since we are getting close to the international memorial day of the Holocaust, January 27th.
