I enjoyed this book, but I must warn the reader that I was interested in this age and the main character, Majorian, before starting.

It is an account of the events of the second quarter of the 5th century in the Western Roman Empire, as seen throught the eyes of Julius Valerius Maiorianus, a young Roman senator that follows the military path. He is the witness of the wars with the barbarians and of the power struggle within the Roman court.

The main events recalled are the battle of the Catalaunian Plains and the Sack of Rome… (más)
