Three well written short stories, worth investigating further, but nothing special.
What an AWESOME novel! I liked the scrappy Ensign Clio Evans and the abrupt Commander Jason Grimshaw from the first. I laughed at Clio bluffing her way to fly her very first ship and how she called herself the best pilot in the fleet even though she never flew a REAL ship! The novel is a bit long, but I rapidly read and was surprised when the end leaped in from of me and now, I MUST READ BOOK 2!

Starfighter is a story with two alien races and a few humans. The aliens are by far the most original. Our humans are mostly military types and maidens in distress. They are nothing we have not seen before. The villainous aliens are the usual plug-ugly slavers. But our alien protagonist, code-named Fox, is a chivalrous warrior who deserves better than rescuing human women. I wish he had more backstory than this novella has time to give him. Maybe in the sequel. 3 stars.… (más)
