This was a very lightweight biography. The word hagiography comes to mind when reading this. You get a brief overview of all the high points in JFK's life. I did like the fact that he gave you a brief background on JFK's father. It helps you understand JFK a little more.

Overall, this was pure fluff. Not one negative thing was said about the man. There were a few subtle jabs, but I think that might have been the author's way of convincing himself that he was being objective. However, considering the time period in which this was written, I understand why it was written in the way that it was.… (más)

2607 The duPonts of Delaware, by William H. A. Carr (read 22 May 1994) This is a 1964 book by a New York Post reporter. It is not official but the author is in no way hostile to the family. It is fascinating, going back to pre-Revolution France. The family interests me genealogically since people in the family have such a vast and complicated ancestry. There are a log of interesting things in the history. It is amazing how dangerous the work was in the 19th century. The feud in the early 20th century would probably be worth reading a book about in itself. This book was well worth reading, even though it is not well-written.… (más)
