This book had me go through every emotion possible.
Having children is most couples goal in life, unfortunately, Isla and Ben struggled to conceive, their best friends, Lucy and Nate had good careers and couldn’t see themselves wanting children and so they donated three embryos to them and the second embryo was a success, giving them a beautiful daughter Reese, a child Lucy and Nate never met as the friendship crumbled.
Now ten years later and one frosty left in the freezer awaiting its fate of being destroyed or used as soon as possible. Lucy and Nate were discussing having a baby, sadly before anything could be done about it a tragedy happens and Nate died. Lucy needs to have Nate’s child and wants the last embryo. Isla and Ben also want the embryo.
Told in Isla and Lucy’s points of view, this is a fight that neither thought would ever happen. It is raw with emotion, revelation, and rebuilding a friendship that should never have been lost.
I was in tears at some points and smiling at other points. Having been through the fertility journey, but also donating eggs myself I could see both ladies ' points of view. I felt torn, to begin with, was Lucy wanting this purely because Nate had gone? I felt for Isla, it was donated to her after all, and then I felt that Isla was being selfish. It really was a rollercoaster.

Gracie hatte einen Unfall und muss danach im Krankenhaus feststellen, dass sie sich an nichts erinnern kann. Es ist nicht so, als würde ihr nur die Erinnerung an den Unfall fehlen, nein, sie erkennt ihre Freunde nicht mehr und hat auch viele Fähigkeiten verloren. Dass sich ihre Freundin Scarlett um sie kümmert, lässt sie zu, aber ihren Verlobten Blake will sie nicht sehen, dabei steht die Hochzeit schon bald an. Als Gracie aus dem Krankenhaus kommt, verkriecht sie sich erst einmal und will nicht von ihrer Vergangenheit hören und sich nicht um die Zukunft kümmern. Aber irgendwann muss sie doch herausfinden, wer sie ist. Sie macht sich auf nach Summerhill. Die Blumenfarm ihrer Mutter steht zum Verkauf, aber Gracie will dort herausfinden, wer sie ist und was sie will. Doch kaum ist sie dort, begegnet sie Flynn, der sich ziemlich in ihr Leben einmischt. Sie entwickelt Gefühle für ihn, aber erst einmal muss sie doch die Vergangenheit abschließen, wenn die Erinnerung schon nicht mehr zurückkommen will.
Der Schreibstil der Autorin lässt sich sehr schön und flüssig lesen. Mir hat auch gut gefallen, was sie über die Blumen schreibt und welche Bedeutung Blumen auf die Gefühlslage der Menschen haben.
In Gracie konnte ich mich gut hineinversetzen, denn es muss schrecklich sein, nicht über sich selbst zu wissen. Auch das Abstandhalten von ihrem Verlobten und ihren Freunden ist verständlich. Sie will sich über sich selbst sicher sein und ihr Gefühlschaos ist passend beschrieben. Ich kann verstehen, dass sie sich auf Summerhill wohlfühlt und die Farm wieder zum Leben erwecken möchte, aber sie geht das ziemlich blauäugig an, denn so etwas will auch finanziert werden. Flynn steht ihr hilfreich zur Seite, aber er ist nicht so selbstlos, wie er scheint. Scarlett ist eine gute Freundin, die aber am Anfang ziemlichen Druck aufbaut.
Einige Zusammenhänge wurden mir schon ziemlich früh klar und haben sich auch bestätigt. Das hat der Unterhaltung aber keinen Abbruch getan.

I loved this book!! The cover is beautiful, which caught my eye but the story and characters just drew me in. I knew I was going to love the book after the first chapter. I loved the writing style. I felt I was right there there with Gracie. All the talk about flowers and the descriptions were amazing. I made me wish for bouquets of peonies, tulips and sweet peas.

Gracie wakes up in the hospital after a car accident and has no memory. She doesn't recognize anyone, and doesn't even know her own name or anything about herself. Even scarier, Gracie has a fiancé who is now a total stranger to her and they are to be wed in a few months. Gracie doesn't want to see anyone or hear anything about her past and only talks to her best friend Scarlett. Gracie ends up moving to her mom's old flower farm. Flowers are the only things bringing her happiness and she wants to find out who she truly is instead of the person she once was. At the farm, Gracie welcomes help from Tilly and Charlie. She also meets Flynn. Gracie feels conflicted because she doesn't want to cheat on Blake even though she has no memory of him.

I never saw that coming when everything is finally revealed!!! It made me love the book even more. Definitely a surprise, one that was very well played. This book was a fun read. I definitely recommend it and can't wait to read more by the author!!!
