This is a bittersweet collection, appearing not long after Glen Campbell's diagnosis of having Alzheimer's. You can hear that Glen's voice is aging, but it is still smooth and haunting. My favorites include Hey Little One, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, and Rhinestone Cowboy.

Waiting on the Comin' of My Lord (both versions) bears a special poignancy now.

If you are a Glen Campbell fan, then you should definitely add this to your collection. If you enjoy country music, I think you will enjoy it.… (más)

This is Glen Campbell at the height of his popularity and voice. While this is country music, it easily crossed over into pop music radio stations back in the day.

Most of the songs were timed to play on the radio so they run in the 2-3 minute range with the more recent ones lasting a little longer (The Last Time I Saw Her is 4:07 and the longest in the compilation.)

There are so many hits on this collection; it is hard to choose my favorites. Mary in the Morning, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Galveston, Gotta Have Tenderness, and Rhinestone Cowboy are the ones I would choose. Along with the hits there are other good songs I was less familiar with. I had heard Donovan's version of Universal Soldier, but had somehow missed Glen Campbell's. I really enjoyed the chance to hear these other songs.

If you like Glen Campbell, you should probably add this to your collection. It is one I am glad I have.… (más)
