Graham Butterfield

Where the "today" in question was 1979. A cheezy rock guitar self-instruction book with colorful fretboard illustrations, chord charts for a few classic rock warhorses, and photos of various mid-seventies guitar gods in all their shaggy glory. My father probably paid a quarter for it at a garage sale. Slim overall, but Butterfield does lay out the basics of the modal and major and minor pentatonic scales. Books of this sort are pretty interchangeable, but it is from this particular one that I learned the blues box, so I guess it was actually a hugely formative document in my life.… (más)
