- Burris Butler graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1932. He ministered with congregations in Kokomo and Liberty, IN and Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was the editor in the difficult days of separation of Christian churches/churches of Christ and Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ). He is most noted for his years with Standard Publishing, serving as editor beginning in 1944 and retired from Standard Publishing on April 1, 1971. Kentucky Christian College, Grayson, Kentucky, granted him the honorary Litt. D. degree in 1959.
