Marie Bussing-Burks

This book was written to help high school students build a basic vocabulary that will help them to understand and use when talking about economics. It is well written and it is easy to comprehend. I always had trouble in economics and if I would have had a book like this it would have made it a whole lot easier. As a math teacher some of the topics covered in this book could be incorporated into a math lesson. For example, the topic concerning how to read a stock quote could be used when the math class is learning about money. Another lesson involving graphs could be used to talk about which state has the biggest gross domestic product. The author is qualified to write this book because she has previously taught economics for over a decade. The first half of the book defines economic and money terms and the second half talks about money lessons a reader could use when learning about economics in college. The book also provides a student with 10 valuable questions to ask in a college economics course.… (más)
