This book follows a young girl named Melissa and her experiences with starting a new school. Before every chapter is a pre-reading vocabulary exercise over the words that will be in the following chapter. Then you read the chapter from Melissa's perspective and the things she does at school and after school. After each chapter there is comprehension questions and discussion questions to answer. I would recommend this book to students in the middle level grades as a way to learn new vocabulary, build literacy skills, and relate to starting a new school and bullying.… (más)
