I might be a little naive with the title of this book but before reading the plot I thought it was a Western because of the title. Silly me.
Let me tell you a story about two sisters, Roberta, older than 16 years than Johanna. Roberta was perfect in every way to their French mother an always compared them. Johanna was more of a tom boy, who was closer to their father who separated from their mother when she was young. He lived in Montana when he wasn't deployed to Iraq. When he died she was really devastated. She had a mathematical mind and was very smart too and played the piano like her mom and sister but also loved horses, sports and not very attractive to men which she really didn't care. However, men always made very discouraging comments about her looks. She took it in stride and always had a good comeback line.
She was going to law school until her mother dies and ends up being a waitress until she could take the bar exam since she missed it because of her mother's death.
I loved Johanna and Roberta both and Roberta was always good to her sister and never put her down and they were very close despite their age difference.… (más)
