It will be helpful to have some prior understanding of person-centred counselling theory to fully appreciate this book, which looks at a variety of issues which a client may present to a therapist (the introduction gives a précis of a few fundamentals, but these are, perhaps, more an aide mémoire for the student rather than a crash course).

The individual chapters examine the general features of different presenting issues (though emphasising that generalisations may not fit individual clients), how the client might experience these and how person-centred theory can inform practice.

I found it a very helpful, enlightening and easily digestible work.
