Great for teaching kindness

I used this book with early elementary students. The theme, kindness, can be used for the opening of school, or World Kindness Day.

What a delightful children's picture book!

Big Guy is the big brother to Pip, our lead character. She's the sweetest little girl but she's also quite the handful! The two are at odds but make for a fun sibling duo who need to learn to get along.

The illustrations are colourful and fun, which is a must need for books with illustrations. The text in the book is also styled in different sizes and there is a rhyming scheme which makes the story very engaging. Throw in the hilarious mishaps of these siblings which any kid with a sibling has experienced, and you've got a great read for young ones.

I highly recommend his picture book for a fun read for your little minions!

Four out of five stars.

THIS is the "after diagnosis" book I wish I'd had.

When I was diagnosed in 2009 with autoimmune arthritis (RA), the prognosis for life expectancy was pretty good. Just a few less years. However, the prognosis for disability was terrible. THIS is the book I wish I had had at that time. All the "after your diagnosis" books I read about my type of arthritis were medical/symptoms/terrible prognosis-focused and frankly, they were scary.

Colleen speaks from her heart and from the authenticity of her own life-threatening diagnosis. She offers patients (and the people who love them) options that cover the whole range - emotions, practicalities, etc. And she made me laugh because no one but another patient with chronic illness can understand what it's like. You will LOVE this book!… (más)
