Eugene Broderick

While I had heard of the name John Hearne as a Civil Servant and his involvement with the 1937 Constitution I was unaware of much details about his background. Broderick writes well and expands on the work of previous studies such as Keogh' and Hogan' regarding the crucial role of the core group of civil servants working with de Valera on the drafting of the document. He again reiterates how the role of McQuaid is drastically overbload once historical sources are examined. Hearne was greatly trusted by de Valera in this respect and deserving of a biography.… (más)
