Ed Bradley

Broadcast journalist Ed Bradley was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 22, 1941. He graduated from Cheyney State College in 1964 with a B. S. in education. He taught at an elementary school in Philadelphia and worked part-time at WDAS radio in Philadelphia. In 1967, he started working at mostrar más WCBS radio in New York. He became a CBS News stringer in the Paris, Saigon, and Washington, D.C. bureaus. He became a White House correspondent, covered Jimmy Carter's 1976 presidential campaign, and was the floor correspondent for both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions for many years. In November 1976, he became an anchor for CBS Sunday Night News and joined 60 Minutes during the 1981-1982 season. He received numerous broadcast journalism awards, including 19 Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the Paul White Award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Black Journalists.
