A collection of writings following on from Piketty's publications on Capital in the Twenty-First Century (2014). As can be expected from the length and laboriusness of the original, this one too is voluminous, and often dry and laboured. However, it would require much more applicationand study to formulate an academic critique, which I am not capable of right now. What I can record is the avarage reader's reaction, and that is not uniformly favourable. Some of the contributions do make a cogent point on some missing element in Piketty's thesis, e.g. its omission of human capital as one of the important elements of capital. One editorial feature that is of real help is that the end-notes are labeled by the page numbers range in the header, which makes it easier to locate and correlate with the body of the text (not that I tried). This is a volume for the hard-core self-flagellant, not to be tackled on a short-term basis.… (más)
