NCLA Review - The title does not describe the fact that the book is about public, national and international tragedies and disasters. It is predominately about the author’s reaction, as a Lutheran bishop, to 9/11 and the strategies used to help the many impacted by that horror. It is therefore not necessarily a helpful tool for one’s individual grieving process except for the author’s description of his experience with prostate cancer. There is reference to the healing he experienced personally but which is not explained. In summary, this book could be helpful for those wanting a retrospective view of 9/11. It is not a book for the person seeking solace from an individual personal loss. It would best be utilized as a teaching tool for divinity students about disaster response. Rating: 2—JD… (más)
