What can I say about Daily Feast? Wonderful insights, great sermon preparation, and just an amazing commentary. I find this is definitely a go to book when looking to preach. I may not always agree with some of the insights, but they definitely make you think. The contributors are fantastic and knowledgable experts.
This goes along with the lectionary of the year and is a resource that needs to be purchased and kept. The only difficulty I had was simply the ebook format I received didn't have a Table of Contents and I wanted to jump around, but couldn't, so I had to scroll through to find what I wanted. That was the only complaint, otherwise worth it!

"The Worst Christmas Ever" tells the story of a young boy named Matthew having to adjust after his family makes a big move. All of the changes are are hard to take, and to make matters worse, his dog runs away. The illustrations are engaging and will draw children into the story. The storyline and its miraculous resolution could be helpful for children facing new changes themselves.

If your family has the tradition of wrapping up Christmas and reading one a day until Christmas day, you will want to add this one to your list! I really liked the illustrations. Not only are they colorful but the characters and their expressions are very appealing. I think their visual quality really added to the story.
Matthew thinks he will have the worst Christmas ever. His family has moved to California, new home, new school, no friends, a new church and no snow! I am assuming from his disappointment that there will be no snow, they have moved from a state with a much colder climate. Everything was different, too different. His family volunteers to be in their new church’s live nativity, not Matthew’s choice either. To make matters worse, his dog Jasper runs away! Many days without his faithful companion leaves Matthew feeling very low on Christmas Eve. The book ends in special surprise one that helps Matthew see Christmas isn’t about the physical trappings but something much more important. A unique but meaningful holiday book.

This is an adorable fictional story that begins with the energetic zookeeper waking up the animals, and making sure they are ready to go for the day for the visitors. This story uses rhyming words and alliteration to describe the actions, sounds, and lifestyle habits of the zoo animals. The pictures on every page show a variety of different animals and their various habitats in which they live. I enjoyed how the book goes from the point of view of the zookeeper, to the visitors, and then ends with the points of views of the zoo animals and what they see every day from the visitors. This is a great model story for writing, as I would have students choose an animal from this story, and construct a research paper on the animal that they chose with facts of the animal's diet, habitat, etc. I think it would also be enjoyable for the students to draw a picture of the animal that they choose as well, and their works can be hung up around the classroom.

For very young children about to move in the fall to a warm-no snow environment may be the best audience. Non-Christian readers may get confuse by the religious pageant and nativity references. When read with a 5 year old, he said he couldn’t believe the dog was found where it was and was said the book was okay. I received a copy for review through LibraryThing’s Early Reviewers program.

A miracle at Christmas story which is soppy and sentimental but still managed to bring a tear to the eye! Perfect for 3-6 year olds. Not too keen on the illustrations as they are not very cute.

A cute book, loved the lesson on keeping the faith going, and the ability to adapt with major life changes even at a young age.
I will be placing this in our church's little library soon

When Matthew learns that the family is moving to California, he knows Christmas without snow will be horrible. It gets even worse when his beloved dog gets lost. Will the miracle he wishes for ever occur? The story with its delightful illustrations may become a family holiday favorite!

This was an okay book. My child read it to me. His impression was the same as it was an okay book. He said he probably wouldn't read it again. The illustrations were well done. The story line needed a little more. I'm not sure what but is was just an alright book.

Sweet book about a little boy named Matthew whose family moves to California. Nothing is the same, no autumn leaves, no snow, he doesn’t know the songs at church. The only comfort is with his dog Jasper. And then three days before Christmas, Jasper gets lost and Matthew is distraught. But on Christmas Eve all is made right again.
This is a simple book that would be helpful for any child moving to a new place, especially around Christmas. The illustrations are also excellent.

Such a handy and interesting book to have on hand for you Christian children, facts to wow and fascinate them.
Your children age going to keep you on your toes as you share these facts, or they share with you. What a great way to keep them interested and looking deeper into the bible, and learn some important stories and facts.
A book that you children will be sharing with their friends and will amaze many, and geared to ages 5 to 8.
I receive this book through Worthy Kids/Ideals, Museum of the Bible Books, and was not required to give a positive review

This is a book about 100 fun and fascinating facts about the Bible. This is written and illustrated with children in mind but is enjoyable for adults also. These were great facts. I received this book from Worthy Kids for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I read Rufus and Ryan Go to Church!, in exchange for honest review from Flyby Blog Promotions. The book was written by Kathleen Long Bostrom and illustrated by Rebecca Thornburgh. The book was published by Candy Cane Press/Ideals Books. I received a board book in the mail for review.

Why I chose the book: I wanted to review this book because I just started going back to church in 2012. I had not been previously since 2010 except once or twice. In two years, I had given birth to my two year old, in addition to having my oldest move from Georgia to Texas to live with me. I had to start going back to church, if not for me, for my children. I had to find the right church for my kids. I had three requirements: a nursery for my baby (who was almost 1 at the time); a special needs program for my oldest; and transportation to get to and from church. I don't want my kids with me in the sanctuary. They need to learn with people their own age and disability. Not to mention, they don't act right. Kalen likes to knock pens out my hand. Brad can't sit still. He also tries to run around. I have had issues with a church before that did not have a SPED program, and did not like Brad making a bunch of noise in church. When I had Brad for the weekend, I had to decide between staying at home or taking Brad to church and risk being asked to leave. I didn't even think about the pastor, but luckily, I found a great church with an excellent Pastor and assistant pastor. I googled churches but all the ones, who had special needs programs was too far away. I needed a church within reasonable distance: 30 minutes or less. I passed by my current church all the time, to go to Wal-Mart and a few other places. I have no idea what caused me to email the church, but I did. They met all my requirements and then some. The church is less than 5 minutes away from my house. Great special buddies program. The nursery program is awesome. The transportation leaders are amazing as well.

Back to the book:In the book, Rufus and Ryan are going to church. The church is full of people, from the old to the young, including a stuffed monkey. The book teaches kids to be quiet and be still, which is something my nephew needs to do :-). When I went with my mother to church, my nephew crawled under the seats and just would not be still. In the book, Ryan listens, sings, and prays. The book will be a great read to the kids, grandkids, and other kids, in the neighborhood. Also great for church nurseries as well.

I read Bedtime stories and Prayers, in exchange for review from Tyndale House.I immediately read the book to the kids, while I had their attention. My youngest was really in to the book.

The book presented a few stories and prayers for Kids. The book was written by Dandi Daley MacKall. The book is padded and includes three stories (copied from Tyndale House).
1. Bedtime Blessings, which reminds kids that God created night time too. There is nothing to fear when God is near.
2. Thank you, God, which reminds kids to be thankful in everything.
3. God Loves you. Helps comfort and guide kids through the night and throughout life.

My favorite was Bedtime blessings. It was in poetic form. At the end of each verse, it said God created night time too.

I thought this book was cute. It was a reflection of what the animals have to do to get ready for visitors. It is a fictional book and there is very little truth but it is a good way to demonstrate that animals need help getting ready for visitors. I used it as one of my twin set book readings and was glad I did so.
