I'm a little conflicted about this book, the first 30-40 pages seemed like it was just a trashy novel dedicated to the titillation market however as the story develops more depth is added.

It's very graphic and depicts torture, brutal rape, shootings, and people being savagely murdered; this is where my conflict arises, it seems over the top, but then with the direction of the story and the resolution if all of that hadn't been depicted it would have perhaps felt like the characters where just doing through the motions as opposed to really fighting for themselves, their life & their humanity.

In terms of the overall gist of the novel, it is much like Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Basic Instinct meets The Devils Rejects.

It was certainly a unique read.… (más)
