Biografía breve: Blexbolex, de son vrai nom Bernard Granger, est un illustrateur et un auteur de bande dessinée français.
Entré à l'école des Beaux-Arts d'Angoulême avec l'intention de devenir peintre, il en sort sérigraphe. Ses premières productions ont été auto-éditées.
Directeur ce collection chez Cornelius à la fin des années 90, il lance les collections Lucette et Louise. Dès 1999, il participe à Ferraille et multiplie les publications chez divers éditeurs, notamment des illustrations de livres pour enfants, au Seuil ("Rogaton Man", 2001), chez Thierry Magnier ("La Longue Vue", 2005), Albin Michel Jeunesse.
Il vit en Allemagne où il dirige un atelier d'art à l'Université de Berlin-Wessensee. Il travaille régulièrement avec un nombre important d'éditeurs, dont Thierry Magnier, Pipifax, United Dead Artists, Les Requins-Marteaux, en France et en Allemagne.
En dehors de sa production personnelle, il est l'un des piliers de l'éditeur Cornélius.
En octobre 2006 son album "L'œil privé" parait chez les Requins Marteaux. Nominé à Angoulême 2007, le livre reçoit un très bon accueil de la critique et du public.
En 2009, il reçoit le prix du plus beau livre du monde (The best bookdesign from all over the world) à la Foire du livre de Leipzig pour son "Imagier des gens" (Albin Michel Jeunesse).
En 2017, son ouvrage jeunesse "Nos vacances" reçoit la Pépite d'or (ex-Prix Baobab) décernée par un jury professionnel au Salon du livre et de la presse jeunesse de Montreuil. En 2022, il publie Les magiciens.

Gorgeous screen prints. Beautiful! Marvelous! Clever juxtapositions of words and pictures. But not really a book for little children. More like a coffee table book to be enjoyed by folks who like art.

The illustrations were lovely! But to be honest, I have no idea what happened in this book. Or how vacations factor in.

French illustrator Blexbolex uses colorful screen prints paired with one-word-per-page text to bring readers through the seasons of the year. Some pairings are straightforward – a picture of a butterfly with the word BUTTERFLY – while others require a little examination and consideration, like the illustration of a boy walking in the autumn woods with the word DELIGHT. Although not a story in the traditional sense, Seasons does tell its own sort of tale as it winds its way through a familiar (though occasionally disjointed) ordering of images largely focused on the natural world: wind, rain, harvest, fireflies. Adults may also notice more subtle connections (“TRAFFIC JAM” followed by “CATERPILLAR CRAWL,” for instance) and allusions to well-known stories and artworks. This is a book to enjoy aesthetically and talk through with your child, most likely a little bit at a time.

TEACHER TIP: Use this book to engage students at all levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Sample questions include:
