Karl and his wife, Sharon, have finally out-grown their two bedroom apartment, and with his recent raise at work and what they have in savings, they decide it is time to start house-hunting. Who wants to pay rent and share a wall with neighbors when you can have the whole place to yourself, a nice porch to relax on, a basement for an office, and a yard for your future children to play in? It was time to move on to what they really wanted, a place they could call their own.

While scanning through online listings, they found a Victorian house at a bargain price, with a porch just like they wanted. Disregard the eerie chill that overcame them both, and the faint shadow of someone looking out the window on the second floor (must have been the lighting), it looked just like what they were after. In person, however, it was evident the home had been vacant for some time, but the possibilities are endless. But, something was just not setting right with Sharon. She didn’t really see a dark shadow move through the room as they were peeking into the front window, did she?

Within 24 hours of finding the realtor’s ad online, scoping the house out in person, and filing for the loan, they house was officially sold. And within a week, they were moving into the Victorian just 4 blocks down the road from their apartment. However, things are not always what they appear to be. After just a few short days of cleaning up the long-settled dust in their new home, things just don’t feel right. Doors that randomly close, dried blood and fingernails behind the plaster, odd reflections in the windows, and whispers in the air. What have they gotten themselves into?

Karl and Sharon could probably ignore the 5 woman ghosts they regularly see upstairs, but what about the secrets the old Victorian holds? And is anyone really safe anymore? Can Karl and Sharon find the truth behind the house before it is too late? If you are looking for a quick, spooky read, then this is definitely the book for you.

Brian Bigelow puts words to a journey many of us have traveled. He let's us know that it's okay to grieve and miss someone. At the same time he shows us the that the end of one journey is often the beginning of another one.

When poems can touch your soul you know you've discovered a gem. Journey into Renewal is poetry that gives you a glimpse into the authors heart and encourages you to work through the pain you might be suffering in your own life. It made me cry and laugh and I have to say thank you for such moving poetry. It has been many years since I've read poems, thanks to this book I will have to begin again.
