This is obviously based on a TV episode and the plot is poorly adapted into a book. This is the worst book my daughter has ever borrowed from her school library but she likes it because it's My Little Pony, of course. No school should have these blatant advertisements as they have no reading value at all.½

This is a comic book that follows the daily life of 5 teen superheroes and the random shenanigans they end up instigating. The comic doesn't present a traditional message, but rather it shows that literature can be expressed in different ways with the way the media is present in a more graphic based orientation. the books story also conveys a message of inviting people to read a silly story for enjoyment. I have mixed feeling about this book. I enjoyed the focus on visual storytelling with text used to supplement the images as opposed to the opposite which is normal for traditional picture books. A key example of the visual storytelling being the fight between the giant burrito and Burger. the fight is shown to the reader without the need for words to describe the situation except for the use of onomatopeia to give sound to the characters' actions. However, it is my opinion that the artwork of the book is not the best. it conveys the actions well enough, but the character designs seem blocky and the comic uses a limited color palette with a focus on fluorescent colors that hurt the eyes after extended viewing. Also, I believe the book has a lower quality of writing which focuses mostly on getting cheap laughs using gross body humor over story development. An example of the low brow humor includes numerous burp jokes. These jokes may appeal to younger readers, but I think they are too numerous and immature.

This was another great find.

Lakota Man is a beautiful love story, but it is more, much more – it is a rock ‘n roll love story, and in my opinion, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Caleb and Sara are both musicians. Caleb is the lead singer and guitarist of a rock band, and Sara is a beautiful and vibrant Blues singer. They meet at the recording studio where they are both working on their latest projects and are immediately attracted to each other.

The story follows their hesitant first steps to try, in their own way, to trust each other enough to open the door to love – both Sara and Caleb had been hurt badly in the past and they were understandably hesitant to entrust their hearts to just anyone. But they both knew there was something special happening, the chemistry was there - they just needed to trust it.

There is so much about this book that I loved. Firstly, the story – it is a true love story, the sexual attraction between Sara and Caleb is handled subtly by the author, but it is there. The personalities of each character has been so well thought out, and brought into the story, which made for great reading. I also loved the insight into the Native American culture, which was a bonus, I just wish there had been more, a lot more :)

I highly recommend this book if you love a good romance, rock ‘n roll, and a very good story which is told in a way that leaves you wanting more. I Loved it.

Haunted by his fiancée’s tragic death, Joaquin Black Wolf tries desperately to mask his pain by joining a second band as drummer. Yet nightmares and sudden flashes of his inner pain cascade through his life like a mid-summer’s storm through a desert town.

Struggling to defeat his demons on his own terms, Joaquin desperately seeks answers from within himself, pushing his friends and family away. When love enters his life again he finds himself awash in his fears and catastrophic memories.

I must admit this is my first foray into the romance genre and I was a bit wary about reading a romance novel. Magnolia Belle dispelled any prejudices I may have had with a wonderful, almost lyrical, style of writing. Loco Lobo’s characters are fully realized and the dialogue is natural and unforced, like having coffee with a good friend. Belle’s descriptive phrasing draws you in—you can picture Joaquin and his band playing passionately on stage or quarreling from bruised egos—and captures your heart.

Brilliantly written, Loco Lobo has opened my eyes to whole new genre, and I like what I see. Belle has a real hit on her hands with the forth book in the Black Wolf series, Loco Lobo.

First let me admit that I didn't read this series in order but still had no problems but I have actually read Black Wolf: Loco Lobo before this one and it told Joaquin's story after the events in this one.

Being the youngest of the brothers he's had it all in one way or another, some things you get the feeling that like most youngest siblings he'd rather do without. Being the drummer in a hot band however Joaquin has also had his pick of any female that he liked. Picking and choosing at a whim until he meets Jade. I found the emotional difference between him in this novel and Loco Lobo outstanding. Ms. Belle took a young, brash man used to getting what he wanted when he wanted it in this one to the more mature character readers will find in the next one. Joaquin and Jade are beautifully written and the reader will pull for them as Jade wonders if she can have a future with a man that she knows if more used to the fast life and then life interfers and we watch things shatter. I will not spoil that for readers but even though I knew what should have happened I still choked up. Very emotional as readers are witness to the events that force Joaquin to grow up fully.

Ms. Belle has written another powerful, touching and excellent book for this family.

This is my first book in this series and by this author and I must say that I was not disappointed.

Ms. Belle has created a world that many, if not all, readers will be able to relate to in some way. Caleb, Sara, his family, etc were written vividly, strong, and realistically. It would be easy to imagine this tale of fiction happening.

It was easy to read, kept my attention and made me want to turn each page just to see what would come next. Very exciting and touching. I look forward to reading the rest of this series soon.

This the second book in this series by Magnolia Belle that I've read and is the fourth in her series about these fascinating brothers.

Loco Lobo brings readers into the world of Joaquin Black Wolf, the drummer in the band he and his brothers have. I was drawn into the book from the blurb and right from the first page was hooked. Loco Lobo is a compelling story that will captivate the reader from page one until you turn the last page and then you will want more.

In this book, you will follow Joaquin as he tries to get over the pain of loss which is devastating to him. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried a couple times. He is a strong character and he wonder as the book goes along if he will recover from the loss he has suffered. Will the help of his family, of prayer, and the love of a new woman be enough to get this man over the hurdles that loss and death are causing him to see and feel? I won't spoil the book by saying. Read it.

All of the characters, new and old, are written in a way that readers will relate to. You will adore the Black Wolf brothers. Isabel, the new lady who comes into Joaquin's life, was wonderful to read and you pull for it to have a happy ending between the two.

This is another wonderful book by Magnolia Belle and I can't wait to read the others in this terrific series.

Just when you think a series of books can't get better, it does. While this is the second in Ms. Belle's series about the Black Wolf brothers it's actually the third I've read and I'm so pleased to say that this one doesn't disappoint.

While it's hard to pick a favorite brother out of this talented family, I think Matthew will come close to mine. Struggling to accept his own life and finding it hard to be alone after he sees his brother's happiness at being married, he soon finds not only love and friendship with Lainie but also competition with his own cousin for her affection.

It's clear that Ms. Belle truly enjoys and understands the world that she has created as the reader will feel apart of the Black Wolf family as we wonder who will win the heart of Lainie Two Kettles...Matthew or his cousin. Another wonderful book in this series!

What happens when a rocker used to getting his way meets a female singer who is not willing to fall at his feet? In this case, he falls in love! Lakota Man is the bad boy rocker that every woman wants to tame. Sara is a beautiful singer that every man wants to lay claim to. Both have a history of bad relationships, which causes each to be hesitant in a different way. This is a fun, light romance that follows two musicians through the aches and pains of learning how to love each other.

Black Wolf: Lakota Man is the first book in Magnolia Belle's Black Wolf series. Belle does a great job of capturing the essence of her characters and bringing them to life on each page. Lakota Man is a feel good read for anyone looking to escape into the world of happily ever after!
