This wasn't the book I expected, but that's not to say that it wasn't good -- in fact, it was very good. Instead of being a book about being a better magician, it's really a self-improvement book that takes its cues from some "magical" powers exhibited by wizards -- both fictional and real. It's not preachy in demanding that you change; rather, it lays out a way someone might impress you with their foresight, and then suggests ways you yourself might learn how to do something similar. Each chapter includes at least one way to improve yourself, but the book might have been just a little better with additional exercises. I was distracted, though, by several typographical errors in the book, and the index is really a concordance (I also didn't like the sticky feeling of the cover, as it felt like the ink was coming off all over my hands, even though it never actually smeared). If you're not impressed with the self-help guru of the day -- and have a natural affinity for wizard-like status -- it's a worthwhile read.
