Aziza Barnes

One of the small stack of books I bought from Yes Yes Books when my friend Heather recommended the publisher. These poems are challenging and filled with a raw power that makes itself felt even as some poems boxed me outside of them.

I especially enjoyed the pulp fiction poems and the mutt poems.

The collection definitely deserves a re-read. I keep trying to force poetry into my readathon plans, but it tends to encourage forced, hurried reads, and these poems need more breathing room.… (más)
