It was pretty good but the ending felt weird.

Another excellent book. Favorite new series for the year.

This author is an excellent writer, but it’s always slow going for me. Nate and Zach both had their own issues (Nate more with his anxiety), and the miscommunication was a bit rough to get through toward the final laps. But I did love how it all worked out, and maybe we’ll see them again in another book (it was great to see more of Mike here and where he is in his life now with Danny).

Ok I definitely loved this, but it was rough going especially through the first quarter of it; I almost gave it up, but I went back because it’s had so many high recs from others I trust. But it’s all the feels here, and I can say they’re quite a roller coaster of anger and angst and love between Mike and Danny. The author just plops you into this world which was rather disconcerting since I know this is a debut yet felt like I was supposed to know all these people. We get these glimpses of backstory here and there that affect their actions, but there’s still enough missing that I’d read another book about these two as I truly adored the different journeys they both made apart as well as together. I do wish that there had been a real epilogue or continuation rather than a sports article, but hopefully we’ll learn more as the series progresses. I am surprised that they didn’t Photoshop tattoos on the Mike cover model considering he’s apparently completely wrapped in them in the book.½
