G. P. R. Balfour-Kinnear

The original edition of this book was published by Longmans, Green in 1937 and reprinted the same year. I mention this because for some reason unexplained the author has omitted from this new and enlarged edition his original, instructive and very entertaining chapter on fishing with a hookless fly. Those who, like me, want to re-read that chapter must do some careful shopping in the secondhand bookshops. The author may have had good reason for changing his mind about the hookless droppers, but he has not told us what it was. No matter. Even without that missing chapter, his is a valuable and most amusing book.
