I won an ebook copy of Midnight At Herlong Manor in LibraryThing Member Giveaway. The beginning of the story seemed to be a bit boring due to numerous descriptions but the plot quickly got interesting. I was reading the book late in the night and I need to admit that it gave me the creeps. I liked the plot and really enjoyed reading the book. After such an absorbing story I can't wait to read more about Gideon's adventures.
Technical things:
When it comes to the pictures, I think they don't really match the story and I also don't like the artist's style. Moreover, I noticed a few errors like 'or' instead of 'of', or 'he' instead of 'him' etc.

The writing was very good and the illustrations added a new dimention to the experience. However, there are laws against picking up bodies in pickup trucks even in Florida. Quite a bit of blood and gore but more farce than terror. Menaced by marrow sucking, eyeball eating monsters was fun. The main character, Gideon Spencer was totally unlikeable so yea monsters.
This was free from member's giveaway-I think just a few chapters to test the waters.Just need to remember terror isn't always what you see but maybe what you don't see. Luck and keep going.
