Though I am not a parent, I agree with much of what the author said--though some may need to be adapted a bit for your particular family.

I thought the question about miscarriage and abortion, though well handled, kind of came out of the blue and didn't seem to flow as the rest of the book did.

I could tell the author was going for a book series.
