I liked this novel as I rode along with one of the few female police officers in DC as she fought against the male officer that thought she shouldn't BE an officer! Her LT. thought she was inferior to men. Of course, Ms. Austin showed them WHAT females are capable of and she went on to do her job and retired after twenty-four years even though she had wanted to write poetry and play drums.
