This fun and flirty, sexy and sweet story is a perfect when you're in the mood for romance.

Kitchen Matches is a fun and flirty, sexy and sweet romance by author Marianne Arkins, and it is the perfect bite-sized romance to usher in the season of love, Valentine’s Day. The story flips the stereotypical gender roles, making for delightful entertainment from start to finish.

The main characters, Corinne “Cori” Weathers and Micah DePalma, appear to be as different as night and day, and those differences may be what initially fuels their immediate attraction to one another. Cori, a car mechanic who works in her family-owned auto repair and tow truck business, is the youngest and only daughter of seven children, and her big, boisterous family is a hoot. Micah, an accomplished chef and Cori’s cooking class teacher, seems to come from money: his mother icily formal and off-puttingly elegant. Having been hurt in the past by a boyfriend with family money, this status difference gives Cori pause in pursuing a relationship with Micah, fearing the same eventual betrayal. But these two really nice people could complement each other’s strengths if given the chance.

Miscues in communication kept cropping up, and tension built as I wondered if this relationship would ever get a fair shake. They were so close so many times! When these two were together, the sparks flew!

I recommend KITCHEN MATCHES to romance readers looking for a fun, quick story with an interesting premise and hurdles to jump to an HEA.

The perfect antidote to a hard day! Put your feet up and enjoy!

One Love for Liv, the light romantic comedy by author Marianne Arkins, is the perfect choice for a put your feet up and relax kind of night. I was entertained from cover to cover!

The story moves at a fast pace as Liv impulsively tries to scope out the competition for her fiancé’s affection. I greatly enjoyed the debacle of her meet-cute with Mike, especially the more I got to know Geoff. While I didn’t warm to Liv immediately, her growing attraction to Mike, a genuine desire to do a good job for him, and even her sharing a pizza with Larry, the cab driver, had me warm up to her until I became a solid fan. Her attempts at housekeeping and cookery hit just the right notes for me, and I think I smiled throughout the entire book. I will admit to googling “painting with dogs sitting at a table eating pizza,” I was that enamored with the story.

The story was fun and had realistic character growth for Liv as she started to come out from under the thumb of her father and his hand-picked-for-her-fiancé and becomes her own person. I recommend ONE LOVE FOR LIV to romance readers who enjoy a light and comedic plot.
