I received a free ebook in exchange for my honest review. I honestly was not into this story. I got annoyed with how the two sisters acted. It felt lost at times and it would sometimes seem the characters were one place and then all of a sudden in another. I personally did not like this book, but I also don't typically read this type of book- however it sounds like it was going to be good.

I enjoyed this book. The pace was biting your knuckles, edge of your seat fast. It's definitely a horror book. I could really see this as a movie. I couldn't really get into Jaden's character. She was a bit of a doormat and all the "I'm sorry" and "All my fault" mantras drove me crazy. As a matter of fact, none of the Lissette women were really likable. So what does that say about Ms Arden's writing that I still can't wait for book number three? She's good. Please don't keep up waiting too long to find out what happens to Jaden, Briz and that not so little matter of the two missing combatants near the end of the book. Have we seen the last of them?… (más)

Wow! This one is a heart thumping page turner!

The first thing that struck me about Sweet Desire, Wicked Fate was how well written it is. Wray Arden has an exceptional imagination and communicates her unique story expertly. She has a way of combining a horrific story with a sense of humor if you can imagine that. It is downright clever the way to takes the reader the twists and turns of Jaden’s life. So much to experience for such a young girl. Any innocence and hope she had is threatened when she gets involved in a life that quickly becomes tumultuous.

My favorite thing about this read is the sense of humor! I love books that make me laugh. Especially ones that are prepared with moments (a lot of them in this case) that are anything but funny. It is like going through some sort of 12 step program where you are confronted with every emotion in you bag (more than once). I guess what I am trying to say as this book, the story and the writing style are layered and dynamic. It truly offers everything I could possibly want and more.

Along with all of that Arden does a phonetical job with character development. Once gets the sense that these characters are plucked right out of real life and I can relate to the relationship between she and her sister. Oh and by the way if you are skittish this one just might gives you nightmares for a few days. One bit of advice…make sure you read it when you have the day to spend on it, as you will not want to put this one down for anything. Luckily it is fat paced and entirely engaging so the time seems to pass by quickly! This one has to get a full 5 stars!
