I got this book from Real Readers to review.

Firstly I must point out that the home is for people with learning disabilities and not as it says in the book learning difficulties which is something very different. The author really needs to correct that.

The book follows Rachel starting a new job in a home for adults with learning disabilities after her husband has left her to cope with three children. At the same time a new resident is arriving. Philip until now has lived with his mother who did everything for him and as she has now died he cannot care for himself.

It was an enjoyable read and shows Rachel struggling to get her home-life balance and often failing while coping without her husband.

Slowly she wins Philip's trust and gradually helps him to do things for himself. It clearly shows that protecting him from the world has left him ill-equipped when he is left alone.

At the same time at home a crisis is brewing which threatens to shake up the family for ever.

Entwined is the home manager's story as she seems only out for herself and not to really care for the residents at all.

I'm not sure why the title was chosen as the book doesn't seem to focus on any one 'beautiful day'.

If I had not received an advance copy of this book to review, I doubt it would have been something that I would have picked up to read - if that had been the case, I would have missed out on an absolute gem of a book!
The story revolves around Rachel, divorced mother of three children, and her journey to regaining her confidence after her husband left her for another woman. She begins work at Clifton Avenue Care Home for people with learning disabilities - here she meets Philip, a giant of a man with severe learning disabilities. Together they create a magical bond which ultimately helps them heal, grow and learn in ways they hadn't imagined. The story covers all the problems that are faced when dealing with the repercussions of divorce, the supreme challenges of being a single parent and all the problems we recognise within Social Services.
The author deftly brings the all characters roaring into life and makes them believeable, genuine and very three-dimensional. It is very easy to identify and sympathise with Rachel as she tries to move her life forward in a positive way and the care and compassion that she pours into her work at the Care Home is almost palpable.
At times funny, at others very moving - this book is an absolute delight!
If you love Jojo Moyes' books - you'll love this.
A light, very easy read but a complete and utter joy! I even felt a tad bereft leaving the characters behind when I came to the end of the book.
Pick it up to read and enjoy!
