Apparently one of those books that Arkham House was supposed to release before they joined the choir eternal...

Pretty good creep anthology with a lot of names I didn't know. Ugly cover and dj. There were a handful of really good disturbing stories and no real stinkers, which I hate in an anthology (Why include one really bad story, harkening back to the rotten apple analogy?). Too many damn typos!

I liked it, anyway.

A pro, longed scenario for 1920's Call Of Cthulhu that ends up in Maine. Very much in the spirit of old school adventuring, this would require some reading of Balckwood and watching Bigfoot films to set up the eerie atomosphere. Very disturbing in places, it has mature themes, and shouldn't really be addressed by younger players. Good if you like Ithaqua, isolation, and survivial style scenarios.

A very good sourcebook for Victorian Gaslight adventures with an emphasis on the occult society, The Hermetic Order Of The Golden Dawn. It details, realistically, the way that this society might be used in game situations as well as the personalities that the players interact with. It does lend itself more to a campaign style, and in particular, one in which the Keeper will be comfortable with the players having some form of magical knowledge if not use age. It has its limits, but overall, this is a good take on a difficult Society to use, in an era that has its own limitations, both culturally and technologically. Well laid out and very well illustrated this is worth getting for Gaslight keepers and even those who use the Green and Pleasant Land setting of thirty years later.… (más)

A collection a little like a pop album, of some very good, smoke excellent and other poorer short stories and one short novella, which whilst fun, looked more at adult fairy tale themes than anything else. Some of the better offerings here, take the werewolf legend and do something bizarre and original with it. I also felt that some of the stories were very good at emphasising the loneliness of the great outdoors. Some using this motif, were quite haunting.
