A puppy and Christmas has got to be one of the best combination of story elements out there. Then there are Zach, a nurse taking on extra shifts to earn enough money to make ends meet, and Andy, who is trying to finish college so he can get a better job. Zach and Andy are ridiculously in love, and their story of mishaps followed with a Christmas surprise is super cute.

Personally, I found it a little too predictable and one thing bugged me enormously - something that would probably make any pet owner worry. Don't get me wrong, the story is still fun to read, it just wasn't more than "okay" for me.

A Slaughter of Angels by Matthew Angelo is an amazing fantasy story about a PI named Rian who is a Nephilim and is called in by the cops to help with the paranormal cases. This is a world where paranormal creatures are known but not public like in some books. A serial killer is taking women from the local strip tease club and found dead in a bizarre fashion. The book is full of mystery, intrigue, fantasy, witty dialogue, great characters, action, and good plot. I enjoyed it tremendously. It is a short read and that is refreshing sometimes. Short, but it did not lack anything a large book would have. I look forward to the next book. I received this book from NetGalley for a honest review.
