On a rainy Saturday afternoon, several cartoonish animal characters are transported back in time to ancient Japan to learn about samurais. The large cast of characters makes the story hard to follow and, although the book does contain interesting information about ancient Japan, some actions feel contrived (for example, when Ramses randomly asks the samurais if they want to touch his sword and the samurais reply with 'A sword is an extension of one's soul. No other hands can touch it.'). It might work as a comic or a Saturday morning cartoon, but for books I think you're better off sticking with Magic Tree House and Time Warp Trio.
