Marianne J. Ailes

Marianne Ailes' research interests are in Medieval French literature, in particular the chansons de geste and early vernacular chronicles. She is actively involved in editing and translating as well as interpretative studies. She is currently engaged in a collaborative project on Charlemagne in England with Phillipa Hardman (Dept of English, University of Reading) and leading a wider network on the appropriation of Charlemagne material in different lingusitic cultures in the Middle Ages. She is President of the British branch of the Société Rencesvals and one of two Vice-Presidents of the Société Rencesvals Internationale. [quoted from The University of Bristol website in August 2014]
