(Adam Stuck was only seventeen when he won 4th place in the 2007 Tweener Time International Chapter Book Competition. Teens from 20 states and 11 foreign countries entered this competition. Adam is from Ecuador, South America, a student at Quito Alliance Christian Academy. Beth Dellinger is a seventeen-year-old cover artist winner in the same contest.)

Nathan Quist is an exchange student from England, and he has a different way of looking at everything and a remarkable talent for noticing things that others might not. Daniel Reimer is just an average kid in Indiana, and nothing ever seems to happen in his school, until Nathan arrives.

Laura Peters sits in the front seat of class, and Daniel is very interested in her. One day, she doesn't show up for class. Then Laura is found unconscious and locked in a closet at school. When she doesn't regain consciousness right away, Daniel and Nathan decide to do some investigating to find out just who, or what, caused Laura to end up locked in the closet.

The boys are drawn into a complex mystery, and the plot gets complicated as several suspects are identified and then discarded. The villain tries to get Nathan sent back to England when their investigation gets too close for comfort. With only a few days left in Indiana, the boys must solve the mystery. And then they find out about the silver earrings shaped like crescent moons, and Laura's life hangs in the balance.

A marvelous first novel for Adam Stuck, the fast action and exciting characters will make this mystery a sure-fire hit with reluctant readers.
