We've already read Pilgrim's Progress by Helen Taylor, The Complete Tales of Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne, Milly-Molly-Mandy, A Child's Garden of Verses, A Bear Called Paddington and a variety of fables, fairy tales, myths as well as poetry picture books. We are finishing Charlotte's Web today.

Here's the list I'd like to finish:

James Herriot's Treasury for Children
Childcraft's Stories and Fables
The Wind & the Willows
Mary Poppins
Burgess' Book of Animal Stories
Burgess' Book of Bird Stories
Storytime with the Millers
Giant Treasury of Beatrix Potter
Favorite Greek Myths
Roman Myths
A Child's Book of Myths
Just So Stories
Stories from Plato

My ds is 13 and I love to read aloud. He loves to build models while I read to him. It is amazing to me that he can build a model and still completely comprehend the story I am reading. He also has an equally extensive list of books he will be reading this year. He does a lot of science type reading too.

I have a fairly short list of general read alouds, but I haven't planned on any specific reading schedule. With so many little ones right now, I cross my fingers and hope to get to them when we can get to them.

Beauty and the Beast (Lamb)
Blue Fairy Book
Children's Book of Heros
Child's Garden of Verses
Children's Book of Virtues
The Giving Tree
Fairy Tales (H. C. Anderson)
Joyful Noise
Household Stories (Grimm)
St. George and the Dragon
Jungle Book (w.s.)
Story of Dr. Doolittle
Just So Stories (Kipling)
Tanglewood Tales
Mary Poppins
Uncle Remus
Pippi Longstocking
Velveteen Rabbit
Real Mother Goose
Where the Sidewalk Ends
Tales From Shakespeare (Lamb)
Wind in the Willows
Winnie the Pooh (A. A. Milne)

There are many that I should add to the list, and will eventually. I don't include history reading because it would just take too long.

Nope. We just choose them as we go. I love the lists posted, and we have read many on them, and I noticed many others that I'm sure we Will read, eventually.
