Tacolicious will truly satisfy your Mexican food cravings. And it certainly shows that these recipes can easily be made at home.

The cookbook begins with How to cook with this book – giving techniques that are basic, but essential ----
Toasting spices
Toasting, frying, and soaking dried chiles.
Roasting, broiling, and grilling vegetables.

CONTENTS:
Salsas, Pickles + More
Snacks + Sides
Tacos, Tacos, + Tacos
Cocktails, Aguas Frescas + More

I’ve tried Pickled-cauliflower, carrots, and jalapenos – quite good – and Pickled red onions – a bit salty, but will make again, using less salt. I have several more recipes earmarked to try in the near future.

The recipes are impressive, and it’s laid out in an easy to use manner with some beautiful pictures. However, I wish there were pictures for every recipe. I would like to see the finished product and pictures certainly entice the taste buds.

This would make a wonderful gift for the new bride or really, just about anyone. No doubt about it, Tacolicious has a large array of mouth-watering recipes. And It is a wonderful addition to my collection of cookbooks. My rating is 4 stars.

I received a copy of this cookbook from Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions shared are my own.

A mini bio of the history of how Tacolicious began and where the owners got inspiration for their signature dishes. After the bio is a collection of original and eclectic recipes, taco related. Each recipe is explained well and easy to follow, and I look forward to attempting the tamales. The drinks are satisfying. Some of the dishes served at Mosto sound good enough for this Georgia girl to take a road trip to California.

Featuring recipes from San Francisco's Tacolicious, this cookbook is full of great recipes with very nice illustrations featuring the taco and tortillas. The tacos include interesting ingredients such as ribs, goat, lamb, and much more in addition to the more traditional offerings. It also has a large section on cocktails, mainly featuring the margarita since it pairs well with tacos. There are a few non-alcoholic beverages in the section that the younger ones and those who don't drink alcohol can enjoy. It is really much more than a cookbook. The authors have done a great job telling the story of the taco and relating stories about ingredients. They've also given the outline of a party featuring the taco as well as some quick recipes to go along with it. There is a glossary of ingredients, a list of places where one can order ingredients online, a listing of restaurants in California and Mexico that the authors enjoy, and a good index. This cookbook is certain to be a hit with those who can't get enough of tacos. I received an advance e-galley of this title from the publisher through NetGalley for review purposes.

As I am a westerner now living in China I was unfamiliar with many of the vegetables available at local markets. This book has proved very helpful, the information is clearly laid out, and the illustrations make it easy to identify each vegetable.
I have used one or two of the recipes and they have worked perfectly and been delicious.
I would have given the book 5 stars, but for two things: firstly the author has always given the Cantonese name of the vegetables rather than the Mandarin name which is the standard language (Cantonese being a Chinese dialect) and that makes it difficult to ask for them by name. Secondly, although she has covered a wide range of commonly available vegetables there are several surprising omissions (kohlrabi, spring onions etc) and the list of vegetables included in the book is far from comprehensive
