This website takes an extensive, multifaceted approach to interactively teaching children about art. Through a wide variety of games (spot the item, memory matching, create your own portrait, and the like), each with a tie to art in some way, the site showcases a plethora of artists and artistic styles. Though the interface and graphics may seem slightly dated, children are sure to enjoy the bright colors and lighthearted approach to a subject that often seems weighty: the games are a pleasant vehicle for learning about art. Informative text boxes appear throughout, offering the history or interpretation of a specific piece, descriptions of artists, or facts about art in general – such as an explanation of what a portrait is: children with good reading ability will get the most of the site, although less confident readers can easily focus more on the plethora of visual stimuli, or peruse the site with an adult.
