Quilted Symphony by Gloria Loughman is a primer for any artist, but is written for a quilt artist. Besides construction of the art quilt, Loughman covers some basics of looking for ideas for your project, how to draw that design, and how to transfer the idea to a quilt. She teaches about color principles, applique and embellishments. She then gives ideas for making borders and the binding and talks about the quilting process. Some sample projects are given.

She includes some diagrams, but also, many photographs that will get your creative ideas flowing. A great reference for beginning art quilters!
