This is a hard book to find these days. Im lucky to have the copy my grandmother purchased many years ago. Its a hilarious read about these uncouth and ugly Thingumajigs and their bad manners. Then you have these little squeaky clean cherub looking kids that tell you the correct way to have manners. A fun read for parent and child. ( )

This book teaches manners to young children by using fantasy characters called Thingamujigs. Trouble is, they do all the opposite things you really should do! The examples are funny, but they could have the wrong effect. Kids may find them so funny that they will copy the Thingamujigs and not the good maners. ( )

This is a very funny book that illustrates why we should all have good manners. The illustrations of the "Thingumajigs" are very gross and ugly people looking things with warts everywhere. The book shows the "Thingumajigs" and how they don't follow the norms of society. Meanwhile, it shows two very well dressed cute little kids who comment on every wrong thing the "Thinumajigs" do, and give an alternative as to what you are supposed to do in this situation.

I like this book because it teaches manners in a fun and relaxing way. It shows children that you can act in a proper manner and be rewarded for it. At the same time, it helps parents realize there are better ways of teaching manners than screaming them at the child. Sometimes - the parents are in need of a manners book! ( )
