Ms. Frizzle and her class try to experience the climate change currently occurring on Earth. Different examples ae used by the author to narrate what climate change encompasses. I would use this book to talk about the climate change. ( ) I like this book for three reasons. First, I like the current facts and data the book used to raise the awareness of Global Warming. It explains what causes global warming, excessive release of carbon dioxide (CO2) and its effect, causing the earth to get warm. Second, I like the use of pictures to support the ideas and words of the book. On one page, it talks about the “sunbeams landed gently and warmed the soil.” The visual is heat waves rising up and landing to the ground. It provides a perfect visual interpretation for all students regardless of their reading level. Third, at the end of the book, it gives suggestions of what everyone can do to help global warming. Some of the suggestions include Wind Mills, Solar Panels and Recycling. Although The Magic School Bus is a children’s book, it can provide a strong foundation in many areas toward their readers. Let me just start off by saying I adore Ms. Frizzle and the magic school bus! But this book overwhelmed me a little bit. I was focused on reading the main text but you also have to read the conversational pictures at the bottom to understand the concepts. However, it did do a great job of explaining climate change and how human actions contribute to it. The book also covered pollution, natural disasters, and fossil fuels. This book is a good tool for teaching students about the complicated topic of climate change. The book is full of colorful illustrations, while taking the children on a journey that shows them what climate change is and how it affects the world that we live in. The book does a good job of making this serious topic easier for children to relate to and understand, and it would be an effective tool to use in the classroom. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
