There are, after all, many similarities. I enjoyed this book and will happily recommend it to kids. I will have to warn them, though, that it takes a while for the threads to come together into a cohesive story. Ultimately, though, I don't think it's as finely crafted as When You Reach Me. I love the idea for this story better than the execution of it. The ice world wasn't as fully or clearly developed as I would have liked, and I thought the plot culmination deteriorated into expository shouting matches. If I were in charge of the world, I'd have liked to get through the first half more quickly, and tease out the second half. Maybe even a multi-generational narrative; I think at least half the story is Mai's. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
