I absolutely loved this counting book and the illustrations in this book. This would be great for preschoolers and young children I really love how the author used the end page to show all of the animals and numbers at the end to tie the book together. ( )

This is a perfect book for a child just starting to read and count. I do think some of the words are big words, but if given the opportunity to read and re-read the book, those words would come naturally for the child. The context clues in the story will also help the child understand and remember the word. ( )

Animal Antics is an adorable and easy book for young kids to enjoy and learn to count. Each page has different animals doing fun things tangoing, feasting and singing. The creative thing about this book is the illustrations. It's bright, crazy, colorful and always a perfect fit for the number the page is representing. For example, 5 feasting foxes. The page has 5 foxes, 5 candles, 5 burgers, 5 cupcakes, 5 cups, 5 oranges. It's great for kids to count all the pictures. It makes the book way more entertaining for the readers. This is a great book for kids who are just beginning to count and even read. ( )

I found this book to be adorable. It is all about learning how to count from 1-10 through the illustrations of an animal hotel. The pictures are colorful, bright, and fun. I also think the illustrations are easy to follow. Everything in the pictures are the exact amount that is being counted on the page. For example: Seven Singing Sheep, so there are 7 sheep, 7 stars, and seven roses. I think this consistency is important in books like these. At the end, the animals are all in the hallway with their heads poking out, ready to be counted and I think the reinforcement of counting is helpful for children. The mice underground at the end was charming as well since their mouse holes were all over the animals' hotel through out the story. ( )
