Although The Nazi Overcoat was originally published in London in 1967, it has taken almost 40 years for this war novel to find a publisher here in America. Literally written in the very midst of a war zone during WW II, Richard Lebherz has created a nightmarish story about Haufman, an American soldier, who is tormented by a persistent, terrifying dream - a dream from which apparently he cannot escape. The scene of The Nazi Overcoat takes place in a French farm in Normandy where the rumbling of the battle at St. Lo can be heard in the distance. Searching for an escape from the dream that haunts him, Haufman accidently discovers a discarded overcoat that had recently belonged to a Nazi officer. Haufman deludes himself into believing that if he puts on the overcoat, he will become someone else - and escape the finality of his dream. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
