This is an informational book all about facts on a killer whale verses a great white shark and if they were paired up who would win. During the reading it gives both pictures and facts about both animals, where they can be found, what they eat, families they have, teeth they have and how powerful they both are. It is a great book for a guided reading group to make predictions on who would win. This book can be a small group discussion because each student makes their own prediction and gives reasoning on why they picked that. I would have this book in my classroom for students to learn how to make predictions and come up with "because" statements. ( ) This book starts out by comparing the killer whale and the great white shark. It talks about the attributes of the two animals, with little word bubbles the book gives definitions of subject specific words and gives fun facts about the different animals. At the end of the book there is a scenario that has the two animals fight each other using the facts we have just learned about and a winner is determined, but afterwards it asks the reader what they think would happen next time. This is an informational book all about facts on a killer whale verses a great white shark and if they were paired up who would win? During the reading it gives both pictures and facts about both animals, where they can be found, what they eat, families they have, teeth they have and how powerful they both are. It is a great book for students to make predictions on who would win and the ending may surprise you.
